Submission Rules

Article 1.            The Chengchi Law Review is a periodical published 6 times per year in every February, April, June, August, October, and December, starting Issue 77.

Article 2.         The English e-periodical of the Chengchi Law Review started in 2003 and is published once or twice a year. The published articles are selected from the works written in English and published in the Chengchi Law Review. We also decide whether a submission or its English translation will be published on the English e-periodical. Works on comparing laws in Chinese regions will be given the priority. A submitter who does not wish to have his/her work published on the e-periodical needs to notify us in advance.

Article 3.          We welcome works on law, translated works, book reviews, analysis of actual practice, theses published in seminars, and cross-strait studies,  and the submitter is asked to specify to which of the above categories  his/her work belongs. A long paper could be published in different issues. Please follow academic rules regarding referencing and provide  references at the end of the work. The format must be consistent with  that specified in our Department’s “Referencing of Theses Published on the Chengchi Law Review” (our website: http://www.law.nccu.edu.tw/comment/comment_01.asp?item=3). Any work that has no referencing, has been submitted to multiple periodicals, or the whole or a part of which has already been published in another periodical will be rejected.

Article 4.          We welcome papers in Chinese or foreign languages that do not exceed 50,000 words. The original text and a letter of agreement from the original author are required if the work is a translation.

Article 5.         Please specify the order and delegation of the authors if the work is   co-authored by two more or individuals, and a written agreement to the joint-submission by each of the authors needs to be attached (download file: Letter of Agreement for Joint Submission to Chengchi Law Review)

Article 6.         A submitted work should include approximately 10 key words in Chinese and English, a 300-word abstract in Chinese, and a 500-word abstract in English. The English title, key words, and abstract of an approved submission will be proofread and/or adjusted and posted on our website by our editors.

Article 7.         The submission needs to be typed with Microsoft Office, comes in three duplicates, and attached with a disk containing the document. Please mail the above to: Office of the College of Law, NCCU. 64, Sec. 2, Zhinan Rd., Wenshan District, Taipei City, 116. Works submitted from regions outside of Taiwan need to be e-mailed to us (e-mail: editor@nccu.edu.tw ).

Article 8.          Any work submitted to the Chengchi Law Review has to go through the review process, and the result of which will be made known to its author in a timely fashion. The works from an author who decides to cancel his/her submission after it is being reviewed by us or has already submitted it to multiple periodicals will not be accepted by us for 3 years.

Article 9.         The author is responsible for his/her work that is published in the Chengchi Review. Instead of being paid, the author will be given 20 offprints.

Article 10.         After a work has been published for 3 months, it will be stored in the NCCU Library Academic Periodical Full-text Database for users’ inquiries.

Article 11.       After a work has been published in the Chengchi Law Review, any and all of its authors need to agree to their work being entered into a database authorized by us through non-exclusive authorization, necessary reproduction, public access, downloading by authorized users, and/or printing through digital methods, or format adjustment for database compilation. For a paid database authorization, the payment will be equally shared by the Chengchi Law Review and the author(s). A letter of authorization needs to be attached along with the work by the author(s) at the time of submission.
